Thunderstorms are very common during the month of July, but last July was the hottest month on record, with Austin-Mabry only receiving .05 inches of rain.

This month, rain has fallen directly over the lakes. The heaviest rain fell in Travis and Williamson Counties, with Round Rock receiving 12 inches of rain so far in the month of July.

Storm winds in Waco actually flipped a Cessna and six boats out at Emerald Point.

Here are rain totals for areas around town that received more than an inch of rain:

Round Rock - 4.63 inches
North Austin – 4.57 inches
Manchaca – 3.33 inches
Lake Austin/Cortana – 2.79 inches
Austin-Mabry – 2.7 inches
Austin-Bergstrom – 2.23 inches
Fredericksburg – 2.04 inches
Huston-Tillotson – 1.81 inches
Driftwood – 1.73 inches
Spicewood – 1.66 inches
Oak Hill – 1.52 inches
Elgin – 1.48 inches
San Marcos – 1.36 inches
Manor 1.25 inches
Lakeway 1.11 inches
