The 2013 team would get back into the game with five consecutive singles off Paul Montalbano to plate three runs. Freshman outfielder Ben Johnson would triple in the sixth and later score on a fielder’s choice for the 5-4 score.

Toller Boardman worked himself out of a bases loaded jam by striking Brandon Belt of the current World Series champion San Francisco Giants, and inducing a 6-4-3 double play in the top of the 7th inning.

Alex Silver reached first base on a throwing error short-stop throwing error in the bottom of the ninth, driving in Ty Marlow for the tying run.

Former UT head baseball coach Cliff Gustafson made an appearance as the third base coach for the Alumni team during the 3rd inning to a standing ovation as three-time All-American Brooks Kieschnick managed for the Texas Exes.

The Longhorns will open the 2013 regular season on Friday (Feb. 15) when they host Sacramento State in a three-game series. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
