Logan Vinklarek made his final pitch for the La Grange Leopards count last weekend.
Vinklarek, a senior on the championship team, led the Leopards to the 3A state title, pitching a complete game in the 10-2 win.
He got it done at the plate, too, driving in the first run for La Grange. Later in the game, he hit a triple that would eventually bring in another run.
“It’s amazing,” Vinklarek said of the win. “This is what you dream of your whole life.”
Afterwards, Vinklarek was honored with the MVP award.
Vinklarek will continue to throw, but on the gridiron instead of the diamond. He's headed to Blinn College to play quarterback.
The win marked the fourth baseball state title for La Grange in school history.
