Hospital officials say the condition of Evan West, the husband of South by Southwest crash victim Jamie West who died at the scene Thursday, has been upgraded from serious to fair.
Seven patients remain in the hospital following the accident in which a suspected drunken driver plowed through barricades on Red River Street early Thursday morning, killing two and injuring nearly two dozen more.
One patient remains at St. David's hospital in fair condition. Another patient still being treated there was released Saturday.
Six other patients are still at Seton, including Evan West, who is now in fair condition. Of the other five, two patients there are in critical condition, one is in serious condition and two more are in good condition.
Officials said 21-year-old Rashad Owens fled early Thursday morning when police tried to pull him over for a routine traffic stop.
Owens sped the wrong way down Ninth Street and then plowed through a barricade on Red River Street, hitting a crowd of South by Southwest concert-goers around 12:30 a.m. Thursday, according to police.
Police said Owens struck several vehicles, including the moped that 27-year-old Jamie West was on. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Dutch media identified the other victim killed in the crash as 35-year-old Steven Craenmehr of the Netherlands, who was riding a bicycle at the time.
Owens has been charged with capital murder and is currently in the Travis County Jail on $3 million bond.
