The Manor Expressway in eastern Travis County is now open, connecting Manor and Highway State 130 to downtown.
Transit officials say it's important to keep up with traffic in the area, which has risen nearly 80 percent since 1990. And while there are tolls set up on the road, other options exist as well.
"Although there are toll lanes, there are still non-tolled lanes, and we've increased capacities by that," Rick L'Amie with the Central Texas Regional Mobility Authority said. "So if toll lane's not right for you, you can still get to where you want to go quickly.
Increased traffic flexibility means economic development as well. Analysts expect the development to bring more than 2,000 jobs to the area.
