President Obama to visit Austin for civil rights summit

President Barack Obama and several other living U.S. presidents will visit the LBJ Presidential Library here in Austin in April.

The presidents will be in town for the LBJ Civil Rights Summit, a three-day long event honoring President Johnson’s achievements in the area of civil rights.

The LBJ School of Public Affairs is hosting the event to celebrate the president’s involvement in the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Voting Rights Act, the Food Stamp program and many others.

President Obama visited the Austin area last May and during his visit, he stopped by Manor New Tech High School .
