YNN's parent company, Time Warner Cable, is giving you more options on its TWC TV app.
For the first time, it will now offer some live TV streaming outside the home, as well as more on-demand options on your Apple mobile devices.
That means whenever breaking news hits, no matter where you are, live YNN newscasts are at your fingertips.
"I think the local programming plays right into the sweet spot for Time Warner Cable and for our customers who look to us to provide that local relevance and that experience to them,” Rob Mike Angus with Time Warner Cable said said. “I here in New York look at it all the time in the mornings, and throughout the day. So the ability to take with me on the go and to pop it open wherever I might be regardless of whether I am at home or not is really exciting for us and for our customers."
The updated app will offer about a dozen live TV channels, including BBC America, Fox News, FearNet, plus the Big Ten and Pac-12 Network sports channels.
There will also be more on demand content from stations like Comedy Central, MTV and Nickelodeon.
The new app will be available on the Apple app store starting Wednesday at 9 a.m.
An Android app is also in the works and should be available soon. For those who already have the TWC TV app, this is not a completely new service, merely an upgrade.
