For many of us, safety is among the top considerations when buying a new car.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration now has an app that provides easy access to its database of safety ratings.
The agency gives cars a one- to five-star rating on front-impacts, side-impacts, accident avoidance, and more. Using the app SaferCar, you simply look up a year, make and model and you’ll find how a vehicle did on those safety tests. The app also lists recalls for a particular car and tips on the proper location to install a car seat. Finally, the app has a form for registering a complaint about your vehicle.
SaferCar is an iOS only app and it's free.
