A fan favorite from multiple SXSW conference in the past returns this year in a new role.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays the title character and is also the director of "Don Jon." The film made it's SXSW premiere Monday night.
Co-star Tony Danza, who plays Don Jon's father, was also in attendance. It's the first film Gordon-Levitt has directed, and he says he's learned from the best.
"The year before I directed 'Don Jon' I got to work with Rian Johnson who wrote and directed 'Looper,' and Christopher Nolan who made 'The Dark Knight Rises,' and then Steven Spielberg on 'Lincoln,'" Gordon-Levitt said. "I learned a lot from all of them and different things from all of them and they've all been really supportive and just the fact that they are genuinely saying that to me is all the encouragement I would need."
"Don Jon" is a comedy about a porn-addicted ladies man who is trying to change his ways. The movie was previously titled "Don Jon's Addiction" before Gordon-Levitt made some slight changes to the film prior to SXSW.
