Quite a few powerhouse companies have made the move to Austin—from Visa, GM to Apple—but what about the companies who passed on the Capital City?
Austin Business Journal Editor Colin Pope said the city was a finalist in 12 major deals, but didn’t make the cut. One of those includes Medtronics, a medical device company and RedHat, which ended up choosing Raleigh.
In all, Austin has lost out on 7,255 jobs in recent years, according to the chamber of commerce.
