APD searching for south Austin sexual assault suspect

Austin police are looking for a man they say sexually assaulted a woman in south Austin Aug. 14.

The victim was walking in the 1000 block of Sahara Avenue early in the morning when the suspect grabbed her and pulled her onto the Odom Elementary school grounds, according to the Austin Police Department.

The suspect then sexually assaulted the victim before fleeing on foot. He is described to have the following characteristics:

• White/Male
• Estimated to be in his 20’s
• 5’8 to 5’10- Medium, strong build
• Light-Blonde naturally wavy to curly hair
• Dark clothing
