McLennan County residents feeling safer, according to survey

  • Text size: + -

Waco and McLennan County residents are feeling safer at night, according to a new survey.

The survey conducted by Baylor researchers is a follow-up comparison to a 2010 survey of neighborhood safety. It covered two topics, overall perception of crime and perception of crimes by area.

In 2012, nearly 73 percent of the residents polled reported feeling safe. That’s up from 59 percent in 2010.

The study surveyed 701 adult McLennan County residents between March 19 and April 21.
