In early November of last year Jim Jones decided it was time for a change.
Motivated by the loss of his father, he decided enough was enough and signed up for the ATX 50 group at RunTex.
"It's changed our life," Jones said. "I've lost a person. Whole lot less of me walking around," Jones said.
The 50 represents the number of pounds group members hope to lose. For Jones, 50 was just the start.
On Nov. 6 last year, he weighed 300 pounds. Now, seven months later, and 85 pounds lighter and weighs 215.
"I have a new goal of 185. I'm enjoying losing it,” Jones said.
Enjoying losing it so much that he didn't stop at running. Jones now bikes 500 miles a month and has even started swimming.
