Several disabled Texans are filing lawsuits across the state.
The Austin group ADAPT says more than 30 lawsuits have been filed statewide calling for more accessibility.
ADAPT members say they want to be able to go to places everyone else has access to including parks, businesses and street-side parking.
The group says after 22 years of broken promises, they finally decided to take action.
"Many, many times we've had assurances from entities like the city that they would, you know, fix things and make it more accessible and it hasn't happened. So we got disgusted and we decided to file lawsuits," Plaintiff Jennifer McPhail said.
President George H.W. Bush signed the Americans with Disabilities Act into law 22 years ago Thursday.
