A Texas Ranger shot a suspect Friday afternoon, causing injuries authorities don’t expect to be life-threatening.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the ranger was trying to serve an arrest warrant on a suspect in the 1200 block of Orchard Park Circle in Pflugerville. Officials say the initial investigation indicates that the suspect resisted arrest and “attempted to take the ranger’s firearm.”
The ranger then fired in self-defense, inflicting “non-life threatening injuries.” The ranger was treated for minor injuries.
Both the Texas Rangers and the Pflugerville Police Department will investigate the officer-involved shooting.
