With summer in full swing, Deep Eddy Pool is celebrating their multi-million dollar makeover this weekend with a grand re-opening.
Sun lovers headed to the pool Saturday to take a dip while checking out some of the upgrades. The $2 million project included a new pool bottom and deck, better plumbing, a new mural and landscaping changes.
Despite the historic swimming pool recent facelift, the group Friends of Deep Eddy say they made sure to keep true to the pool's original design.
"We've got the same look and feel,” Leon Barish, Friends of Deep Eddy President, said. “It still has the same historic character that it did, and hopefully it'll last another 95 years without having to do too much work to it other than painting every now and then."
Deep Eddy is considered the oldest swimming pool in Texas.
