With Christmas only a week away, many people in Central Austin are still on the hunt for unique Christmas gifts.

The Armadillo Christmas Bazaar, hosted by the Palmer Events Center, offers present-seekers a variety of artwork and crafts, all to the sound of live music. Shoppers can browse unique crafts, photography, pottery, and jewelry created by the nearly 200 artists featured at the bazaar.

Photographer Greg Davis has travelled the world working for National Geographic, but before he found his interest in photography, he led a much different life.

"I used to sit at a desk job for 12 years, you know, cubicle, and although it had its positives, going to one place everyday, doing the same thing, it got boring," Davis said.

Artists said they loved being part of the 36-year-old Austin tradition.

"I've met great people,” photographer Greg Davis said. “I can't tell you the number of connections that I've made, the cool people that I’ve met.”

The Armadillo Christmas Bazaar is open every day from 11:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m., but closes up on Christmas Eve. Admission is $8 on weekends and weekdays after 7:00 p.m. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
