Three thousand women tied on their running shoes Saturday to climb, jump, swing and guess their way through the “SHAPE Diva Dash.”
The five-kilometer race was for women only and featured obstacles like a rope climb, floating inner tubes and a maze.
Organizers billed the event as a way for women to test their strength and bond over a new kind of challenge.
"There's all of these obstacles that have been created, these fun, interesting obstacles that are challenging but also allow people to go beyond their typical comfort zone," Shape promotions director John Balen said.
Saturday's Race benefited GENaustin, a non-profit group dedicated to increasing self-esteem in teenage girls across the state.
