The Killeen City Council and City Manager Connie Green reached an agreement Tuesday night to end Green’s service as city manager immediately.
As part of the agreement, Green will be given $750,000 in compensation.
Mayor Timothy Hancock released a statement, saying:
“This was not a decision reached easily, but the City Council believes that this agreement was in the best interest of the future of the organization and the community.”
Assistant City Manager Glenn Morrison will lead city staff until a permanent replacement is found.
Green recently made news in the The Killeen Daily Herald, when he questioned the legality of city council members allegedly being involved in "walking quorums."
