Austin celebrity Leslie Cochran is out of the hospital, and he took some time Saturday to thank all of his well-wishers.
Leslie left the Central Texas Rehabilitation Hospital Friday after spending a couple of weeks recovering from a head injury.
It's still somewhat unclear how he suffered it. Cochran said he was attacked by a group of people after giving someone advice about the perils of using drugs.
Reports indicate Leslie was found collapsed near Interstate-35 and Oltorf Street on Oct. 3.
"I want to thank all of the people of Austin cause I wouldn't be here without their support. And a special thanks to the Central Texas rehabilitation center because I wouldn't be here speaking to you today if it wasn't for the miraculous care that I went for the last month or so under their care," Cochran said.
We're told Leslie's hospital bills were partially paid by a privately funded scholarship.
A fundraiser and party is also planned for Nov. 1 at the One-2-One Bar downtown.
Leslie is planning to be there.
