Joaquin Sanchez is a local Austinite who is thrilled to be back home. Ever since graduating from the University of Texas in 2007 with a degree in broadcast journalism, his goal has been to get back to the city he calls home.
Now he’s excited to be covering Longhorn sports. Joaquin’s most memorable sports moment is being at the 2006 Rose Bowl when Vince Young led Texas to the National Championship over USC.
Joaquin interned at Time Warner Cable News back in 2006. After graduation, he worked in sports for a year in Dalton, Georgia at WDNN. After leaving the Peach State, he went to Monroe, Louisiana to report and anchor sports. Joaquin was the Sports Director at KTVE before coming back to Austin.
He has been with Time Warner Cable News since October of 2010.
Joaquin has played soccer his entire life, but enjoys golf, basketball and football as well. Even when Joaquin isn’t working, he’s still probably watching or talking sports.
