Garden Reporter

With over 15 years in human resources and benefits communication consulting, Donna retired and moved to Austin in 2000. Like most retirees, she needed something to do, so her passion for gardening took her to Zilker Botanical Garden--her love affair with Austin officially began.

Donna volunteered as a docent for school tours through the botanical garden and worked with other volunteers who participated in school gardening programs, including two Get Growing Keep Going youth gardening symposiums.

In 2005, she was elected to the Austin Area Garden Council (AAGC), serving as Vice President of Public Information--responsible for marketing the annual Zilker Garden Festival, now in its 54th year. In 2008, Donna was the AAGC Project Manager for the watershed DinoLand Exhibit at Zilker Botanical Garden. She currently serves as President of AAGC.
